Partnership to Strengthen NCD Advocacy in the EMR ahead of the 4 UNHLM on NCD, 2025.
Zoom Meeting
On July 30, 2024, the Eastern Mediterranean Non-Communicable Disease Alliance (EM-NCDA) supported by the global NCD Alliance convened a virtual meeting titled “Partnership to Strengthen NCD Advocacy in the EMR” in preparation for the upcoming fourth United Nations High-Level Meeting (HLM) on the Prevention and Control of Non-communicable Diseases (NCDs) scheduled for September 2025. This meeting aimed to enhance regional advocacy efforts by mobilizing Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to strengthen their roles in driving accountability, raising awareness, and pushing for progress against NCD targets.
The meeting presented an opportunity to share experiences and advocacy plans to advance national NCD response and agendas in the areas of NCD prevention, engagement of PLWNCDs and community engagement, as well as to strategically coordinate efforts over upcoming regional and global events such as the Global NCDA Forum in Kigali and Global NCDA Forum 2024.
